On February 25th, Mohamed Din Butt, Executive Director of Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), visited Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. The team also paid a visit to Shanghai SME Development Service Center. Rong Zhiqin, Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, met Mr. Butt. The two parties exchanged views on how to better implement the cooperation framework agreement signed at the fourth meeting of Shanghai-Hong Kong Cooperation Conference last August.
Mr. Rong introduced the preliminary idea of cooperation between the Commission and HKPC this year.He hoped that HKPC could seize the new opportunities brought about by the three major tasks entrusted to Shanghai by the central government. It was hoped that the two partieswould deepen their cooperation in the fields of smart manufacturing, smart cities and SMEs by means of enterprise docking, project cooperation and personnel assignment.Mr. Buttintroduced the development process and key work of HKPC. He said that the Council would focus on smart manufacturing and smart cities to carry out a series of support services in the future. He also hoped that more Shanghai enterprises would go to Hong Kong to develop their business and expand overseas markets based on Hong Kong.
HKPC was established in 1967 to provide support and services to Hong Kong enterprises, especially for SMEs. The Council offers services of R&D, technology transfer and personnel trainingthrough project cooperation to help enterprises enhance their added value of products and services, and finally improve their international competitiveness.
