The 9th Shanghai Financial Information Service Industry Summit 2018 was held

      On December 27th , the 9th Shanghai Financial Information Service Industry Summit 2018 was held at Huangpu District. Zhou Yupeng, President of Shanghai Modern Service Industry Association, and Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the event and delivered speeches.

      The summit was guided by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and sponsored by Shanghai Financial Information Industry Association. Under the theme of “embracing the new wave of FinTech and creating a new smart and inclusive ecosystem”, it focuses on the integration and innovation of emerging technologies and finance, discusses the driving force ofFinTech to inclusive finance, looks forward to the future trends of financial information industry and contributes to the construction of Shanghai as an international financial center and a hub of technological innovation. 

      Mr. Fu pointed out that Shanghai attaches great importance to the leading role of science and technology in the industry. In the first three quarters of this year, the revenue of Shanghai's software and information services industry reached RMB653.575 billion, an increase of 11.7% over the previous year. In contrary, the revenue of the internet information services industry reached RMB202.17 billion, an YOY increase of 19.3%, which paved the way to the development of financial information industry. To achieve premium evolution of FinTech, it is important to improve the competitiveness of industry leaders, while enhancing partnership between industry players. Shanghai Financial Information Service Industry Summit is one of the key vehicles to showcase the achievements of the financial information industry in Shanghai and ensure self-discipline and regulated operation. He hoped that the summit will enable more enterprises to find more energetic and challenging goals through exchange and interaction and to create a healthy atmosphere of development.

      The summit released "Shanghai Financial Information Industry Development Report 2018", which was jointly published by Shanghai Financial Information Industry Association along witha number of financial information companies, information technology service providers and research institutions in Shanghai. It not only systematically reviews and evaluates the financial information industry in Shanghai and across China, but also includes the applications and promotion of information technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and big data, in the field of financial information, which provides valuable reference and insights to government agencies in terms of regulation, self-discipline and enterprise development. 

      Experts and scholars from East China University of Political Science and Law, East China Normal University, Tencent FinTech, Great Wall Guorui Securities and other organizations shared their experience in the application of FinTech in SMEs and micro businesses and the practices of inclusive finance, from both technical and application perspectives. The summit also organized a panel discussion on "Financial innovation empowers new development of SMEs." Experts and practitioners from relevant government agencies and financial information industry attended the session.
