      On December 18th, Lu Xiaochun, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, visited MicroPort Scientific Corporation for research. The team visited the exhibition hall and discussed with the leaders of the corporation to understand the development of the medical device industry. 

      After listening to the introduction and suggestions from the leaders of the corporation, Mr. Lu pointed out that economic globalization is the trend of the times. The independent innovation ability and key technologies are the core competencies of enterprises in participating in international competition. It is hoped that MicroPort Scientific Corporation will further intensify R&D efforts, strengthen technological innovation, enhance basic R&D capabilities, attach importance to talent pooling, and continue to overcome difficulties. The Commission will continue to do a good job in enterprise service, coordinate and study the problems encountered in the development of enterprises and create a good environment for the healthy development of enterprises.

      According to the introduction, MicroPort Scientific Corporation has now developed into a multinational medical device group with dozens of subsidiaries. The company has more than 260 products on the market. Its business covers ten fields, including cardiovascular intervention, orthopedic implantation and repair, cardiac rhythm management, arterial and peripheral vascular intervention, electrophysiological therapy and nerve intervention. The corporation has entered 8,000 hospitals worldwide, covering major markets such as Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Focusing on independent innovation, the company has owned more than 3500 patents (including pending patents).
