On December 5th, Shanghai Municipal Government signed a framework agreement of strategic cooperation with China State Shipbuilding Corporation. Li Qiang, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai, met Lei Fanpei, Chairman of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Yang Jincheng, General Manager of the Corporation. The leaders also attended the signing ceremony.
Mr. Li said that at present, Shanghai is studying and implementing the keynote speech made by Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the First China International Import Expo and the spirit of his important speech during his visit to Shanghai. The city is also speeding up the implementation of three new major tasks entrusted by the Central Committee, and accelerating the construction of centers for international economy, finance, trade, shipping, and scientific &technological innovation, which will help to represent the country to participate in international cooperation and competition. For a long time, China State Shipbuilding Corporation has actively supported Shanghai’s urban construction and economic development. It also plays an important role in launching the brand of "Made in Shanghai". The future development strategy of the corporation is highly in line with Shanghai's industrial orientation, which means the cooperation potential between the two parties is enormous. The government will further deepen the cooperation with the corporation in various fields, fully support the transformation and upgrading of the corporation, ensure the major projects, promote the agglomeration and development of high-end manufacturing industries such as shipbuilding and marine engineering, jointly submit to the national strategy and work together for the country.
Mr. Lei thanked the municipal government on behalf of the corporation for their strong support. He said that Shanghai provides a broad stage for the development of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. The corporation will follow the requirements of the overall urban planning of Shanghai, speed up the adjustment of industrial layout, industrial chain and value chain, and strive to build a world leading marine science and technology industrial group. All of these will help to make greater contributions to the construction of Shanghai's "five centers".
On the signing ceremony, the two parties signed relevant cooperation agreements. Zhou Bo, Executive Vice Mayor, presided over the ceremony. Relevant leaders were present, including ZhugeYujie, Secretary of CPC Municipal committee, Tang Zhiping, General Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Government, Ma Chunlei and Chen Mingbo, Vice Secretaries-General, and Wu Lei, Deputy Executive Director of the Military-Civil Integration Office of CPC Municipal Committee.
According to the agreements, the city and the corporation will implement the strategic deployment of national marine power, scientific and technological power and civil-military integration, give full play to the advantages of both parties, jointly promote the adjustment of relevant capacity distribution and industrial transformation and upgrading, and accelerate the high-quality development of Shanghai's marine industry. What's more, the two parties will create a Science and Technology Innovation Marine Center with world leading power. Large cruise technological innovation projects will be established to improve the cruise industry system and support the construction of Shanghai’s international shipping center. Last but not least, it is important to accelerate the construction of marine power equipment base and highlight the demonstration effect of advanced manufacturing industry.
