On the afternoon of August 27th, Lu Xiaochun, Secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Economy and Informatization, visited the West Bank of Xuhui District to review the preparations for China(Shanghai) International AI Expo 2018. The team checked the construction of the exhibition halls, and listened to a report on the preparations. Zhang Ying, Chief Engineer of the Commission, and Chen Shiyan, Deputy Governor of Xuhui District, were also present.
Mr. Lu fully affirmed the achievements made in different aspects and made clear demands for the Expo. First, it is important to fully understand the significance of the Expo and the impact of AI technology on future industrial development and transformation. All the comrades in the Commission should regard the Expo as a political task, actively participate in the event and run the Expo well with a high sense of responsibility. Second, it is necessary to perfect the preparation work and make good plan in accordance with the requirements of the world's high-end summit.Third, it is advisable to make full use of the limited resources and space to display the outstanding achievements and classical application cases of artificial intelligence and give full play to the leading role of the Expo in the future industrial development. Fourth, it is wise to further enhance attractiveness and cohesion of the Expo. Through this event, it is proper to promote the reform of relevant industries, improve the business environment, gather a number of advanced enterprises, attract outstanding talents to Shanghai, and contribute to the construction of an outstanding global city. Mr. Lu also asked the work team tomake clear and adhere to their work responsibilities, establish a rapid response and disposal mechanism, give full play to the urban joint demonstration effect, concentrate on the quality of the expo and enhance the exhibition experience.
