Chen Mingbo, Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, along with his team on behalf of the Commission, visited Silicon Valley from July 17th to 20th. The team visited a number of corporations including Google, Synopsys, Applied Materials, ARM, Tesla, Intel and Pony.ai, and communicated with related venture capital funds as well as investment enterprises. The team invited related AI enterprises to participate in the 2018 Global Artificial Intelligence Conference. On the other hand, it also actively strived for major projects to settle in Shanghai. All the work has achieved good results.
Mr. Chen introduced the background and the preparatory work of the conference to relevant enterprises. He also actively invited relevant company leaders to the conference, and made keynote speeches for important strategy and products. During the visit, the team issued formal invitations to the leaders of Google, Synopsys, Applied Materials, ARM, Tesla, Intel and Pony.ai, and received positive responses, which would further enhance the influence of the participants.
In regard of major projects, Mr. Chen introduced the development basis of Shanghai industry and the direction of the key layout in the future, and hoped that related enterprises could further increase their development and investment in Shanghai. After vigorous efforts, a consensus was reached with some enterprises in landing the major projects. The team also tried the unmanned vehicle, further strengthened the determination to speed up the development of technology and unmanned vehicles.
