Recently, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences cooperated with University of Shanghai for Science and Technology to realize super-resolution 3D data storage of 1.6 Pb on a CD for the first time in the world, which is 10,000 times the capacity of ordinary Blu-ray discs. This is of great significance for China to break through key core technologies in the field of information storage and realize the sustainable development of digital economy. In the early morning of February 22nd, the related research results were published in the international academic journal Nature.

Seven years to sharpen a sword. Now, the research team has realized super-resolution data storage with information point size of 54 nm and track spacing of 70 nm, and completed up to 100 layers of writing records. The equivalent capacity of a single CD is about 1.6 Pb. After accelerated aging test, the service life of CD medium is more than 40 years, and the fluorescence contrast is still as high as 20.5: 1 after accelerated repeated reading.

Such a "super CD" is only 20 grams, which looks transparent and light.

A CD that realizes super-resolution three-dimensional data storage is equivalent to 10,000 ordinary Blu-ray discs, which means that the cost can be greatly reduced; Even if 100 layers are written, the signal has almost no attenuation, and the original bit error rate is only 0.33%, which means that it has practical potential; After adding protective layer in the future, it is expected that the life of CD media over 40 years will be prolonged.

2、The construction of domestic large cruise ship No.2 is expected to deliver 2,144 rooms with a gross tonnage of about 142,000 tons in 2026

On February 28th, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation, introduced that the plan for building a large node for the domestic large cruise ship No.2 was officially confirmed. At present, the overall construction progress of the No.2 ship is 4.3%, and the construction will enter a comprehensive speed-up stage. It is expected to be named and delivered before the end of 2026.

Chen Jianwei, Assistant General Manager and Director of Large-scale Cruise Project Construction of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, said that according to the plan, the domestic large-scale cruise ship No.2 will dock in mid-April this year and start continuous loading, then realize the first floating in early May 2025 and undock at the end of March 2026.

It is reported that the domestic large cruise ship No.2 has a gross tonnage of about 142,000 tons, a total length of 341 meters, a width of 37.2 meters, a design draft of 8.17 meters, a maximum draft of 8.4 meters, a maximum speed of 22.7 knots and 2,144 guest rooms.
