The 4th World Top Scientists Forum opened to find a scientific way to build an open and innovative ecology (11.1)
The 4th World Top Scientists Forum was held at Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Including 68 Nobel Laureates, 131 world top science award winners, 28 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 132 top young scientists at home and abroad, representatives of future "little scientists", and representatives from international organizations, world-class international universities, research institutions and businesses attended the Forum, from 23 countries, more than 100 cities and 14 time zones around the world. The size of the Forum created a new record high, and it became a phenomenal platform for international scientists to exchange and cooperate in the context of the pandemic.
Focusing on the annual theme of "Open Science: Building an Open Innovation Ecology", the guests conducted in-depth online and offline exchanges and thought collisions, confronted the common challenges and concerns faced by mankind under the current complex global situation, and sought scientific, open and innovative solutions.
Invest in Shanghai and embrace the future! Shanghai’s investment promotion authorities launched 16 promotion sessions during the 4th China International Import Expo(11.9)
From November 5th to 10th, the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. After three years of development, CIIE’s role as a platform of "investment promotion" has become increasingly prominent. In order to promote the high-quality development of Shanghai's economy and industry and attract a group of outstanding foreign businesses to invest in Shanghai, under the guidance of Shanghai Leading Group for Investment Promotion, the investment promotion authorities at the city and district levels in Shanghai held a series of promotion activities with rich contents and various forms during CIIE.
In order to help investors have a deeper understanding of Shanghai's policies and services for attracting investment, the center created a short video column of "Investment is the Way". The first program took "Mr. Investment" as the first perspective to help everyone understand, know and invest in Shanghai. The program will be broadcast on a number of video platforms, including Video Account, Bilibili and Douyin, in the near future.
Work together to create the future and promote the high-quality development of Shanghai’s nuclear power industry-the Shanghai Representative Office of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (UK) was unveiled (11.11)
On the afternoon of November 10th, on the occasion of the successful holding of the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the unveiling ceremony of the Shanghai Representative Office of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (UK) (WANO Shanghai Representative Office) was held in Shanghai. Rong Zhiqin, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Gu Jun, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of China National Nuclear Corporation, Joel Bohlmann, Director of WANO Shanghai Representative Office, and leaders from central enterprise groups, including China General Nuclear Power Corporation, State Power Investment Corporation Limited and China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., attended the unveiling ceremony. Tom Mitchell, Chairman of WANO, and Ingemar Engkvist, CEO of WANO, attended the event by video.
In 2021, the Awarding Conference of two Shanghai Industrial Youth Competitions was successfully held (11.22)
On the morning of November 19th, the Awarding Conference of Shanghai Industrial Youth Innovation Competition2021 and Shanghai Economic and Information System Vocational Skills Competition 2021 was held at the 4th Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Achievements Trade Fair. Ruan Li, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Zhou Wenjie, Deputy Secretary of CPC Jiading District Committee, and Wu Bin, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League, attended the event and presented awards to the winners of the two competitions.
Shanghai Industrial Youth Innovation Competition 2021 and Shanghai Economic and Information System Vocational Skills Competition 2021 were officially launched in August this year. The Industrial Youth Innovation Competition focused on urban digital transformation, attracting 225 entries. The vocational skills competition focused on the development of "3+6" key industries, set up 12 contests, and carried out "competition on the same stage" for young skilled talents in various industries in the economic and information system, including communication, electric power, aerospace, shipping, petroleum refining and sales, attracting more than 700 young talents to sign up for the competition.
