Cross-border connectivity of chips - SEMICON China Summit Forum was held in Shanghai

On November 1st, SEMICON China Summit Forum was successfully held at Pudong, Shanghai. Tang Wenkan, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the event and delivered a speech. Wang Ning, President of China Chamber of E-commerce, Ju Long, Global Vice President of SEMI and President of China, Wu Hanming, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of School of Micro-Nano Electronics of Zhejiang University, Xie Xiaoming, Director of Shanghai Institute of Microsystems of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other industry experts and business leaders attended the forum.

 

Mr. Tang mentioned that integrated circuits are one of the three leading industries promoted by Shanghai, and Shanghai Municipal Government attaches great importance to it, formulates and implements a series of support policies, and accelerates the building of a world-class integrated circuit industry cluster. After years of development, Shanghai has become one of the regions with the most concentrated integrated circuit industry, the most complete industrial chain and the highest comprehensive technical level in China. In 2021, the industrial scale exceeded RMB250 billion, which has continued to grow at a high speed along with investments. It is fully proven to the world that Shanghai consistently upholds the global investment hot spot, innovation highland and entrepreneurial stage of integrated circuit industry.

 

He also pointed out that integrated circuits are a typical global industry and need to strengthen worldwide cooperation. Shanghai Municipal Government will continue to expand open cooperation, create the best business environment and provide the most attractive policy environment, which welcomes more domestic and foreign business executives and experts to invest in Shanghai for a win-win future.
