The 29th East China Fair came to an end 

Yesterday, the 29th East China Fair came to an end. Statistics shows that this year’s Fair witnessed slight growth in terms of exhibition area and exhibitors and visitors, while the volume of export transactions was basically the same as last year. The total area of the East China Fair was 12,600 square meters, consisting of 11 pavilions, 2,900 square meters larger than the 28th Fair, presenting 5,868 booths. The 14 trading groups organized nearly 4,000 exhibitors, including 452 offshore exhibitors.

The numbers of buyers and visitors also increased slightly. 22,757 overseas visitors from 111 countries and regions came to the Fair, an increase of 2% over the previous year. The number of visitors was nearly 80,000, including 16,000 domestic visitors. The top 10 countries and regions participating in the Fairwere Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, India and Italy.

The volume of export transactions remained flat. The total turnover of this year's East China Fair was US$2.3 billion, nearly the same as last year. The top 10 countries and regions in terms of turnover were Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Russia.

 

Shanghai accelerates the construction of the West Software and Information Technology Park

In order to speed up the construction of the West Software and Information Technology Park, the plenary (enlarged) session of the Development and Construction Command of the West Software and Information Technology Park was held at Qingpu District on March 5th. Fu Xinhua, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization; Zhao Huiqin, Secretary of Qingpu District Party Committee; Yu Xufeng, Deputy Secretary of Qingpu District Party Committee and District Chief; Chen Qingjiang, Member of Qingpu District Party Committee and Deputy District Chief; and Ni Xiangjun and Wang Deqiang, both Deputy District Chiefs attended the meeting. 

        Mr. Fu pointed out that Qingpu is an important node in the integration demonstration of the Yangtze River Delta. It is necessary to take the initiative to grasp major opportunities and establish a global mindset, plan and promote the work in the pattern of coordinated development, and achieve a new round of high-quality development. The West Software and Information Technology Park shall adhere to planning and guidance, do a good job in supporting the Park, build a demonstration zone for production and city integration, and focus on the pain points of enterprises. It is also essential to introduce policies for attracting and stabilizing businesses, and recruit and retain a number ofworld-class enterprises. Meanwhile, we will do a good job in the development strategy of Qingpu District. With the Metro Line 17 as the link, we will start an industrial development belt from east to west. Each core area shall be built according to the regional location and industrial positioning to create a new industrial growth point in western Shanghai. . 

        At the meeting, the West Software and Information Technology Park reported on the progress of planning, construction and investment promotion in the Park. The meeting called for unifying thoughts, clear goals and cohesiveness. With higher standards, stricter requirements and stronger measures, we shall ensure that this year, the construction of the Park will advance at the fastest speed, which will provide strong momentum for Qingpu's comprehensive leap-forward and high-quality development.

 

With the total investment of RMB76 billion, a number of major projects were commenced at Baoshan

Major industrial projects at Baoshan District started construction yesterday. This year, Baoshan District has 66 major industrial projects with a total area of ​​about 6,009 Mu and an estimated total investment of RMB76 billion. Among them, there are 20 mega industrial projects with a total investment of about RMB23 billion, including 7 advanced manufacturing projects, including Saihe Intelligent Industry Project, FANUC Phase III, Kohler Intelligent Factory Project and Graphene Industry Functional Platform Housing; 7 modern service projects, including Nanda Smart City Phase I, Yuepu Wanda Plaza, Teddy Vibrant Town and Shanghai Steel Union's Commodity E-commerce Platform Project; 6 industrial-service crossover projects, including China Baowu Shanghai North Headquarters, China Traffic Information Industry Center and CIMC Meilan Lake Integration Project; 26 major startup projects with a total investment of RMB39.3 billion, including the Integrated Circuit Industrial Park and Bao steel Stainless Steel B5 Industrial Park; and 20 completion projects with a total investment of RMB13.8 billion, including Chenggong Science and Technology Oasis and Shanghai Beijiao Future Industrial Park.

On the same day, the Yangtze River Delta High-end Equipment Innovation Synergy Base was also unveiled. In the future, Baoshan will focus on the development of the “Yangtze River Delta” strategy, relying on the CIMC Zhicheng - Shanghai Meilan Lake Project to build a high-end equipment innovation synergy base in the region and coordinate the promotion of high-end equipment industry to promote the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, joint training of scientific and technological talents, collaborative cultivation of scientific and technological innovation enterprises, and ecosystem creation of innovation and entrepreneurship, while exploring the construction of an innovative resource sharing platform across regions and sectors.
