5,000+ volunteers make contributions to the first CIIE

       On the morning of October 20th, the oath-taking ceremony of the volunteers of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai. Yin Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Municipal Government, attended the event and made the speech. Wu Qing, Vice Mayor of Shanghai,granted the flag to the CIIE volunteer team.

       On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Mr. Yin expressed sincere greetings and respects to all volunteers. He pointed out that the volunteers should follow the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping'simportant instructions on "making all efforts to make it a world-class international fair" and devote all efforts to the services both inside and outside the venue. We must inherit the spirit of voluntary service, adhere to the highest standards and the best level, and master the service skills. Through high-quality and efficient services, we will fully demonstrate China's hospitality, openness andconfidence as well as Shanghai's urban spirit and citizen image. We should cherish the opportunities of practice and experience, and through the services and dedication to the Expo, we will perceive the society, assume responsibility, grow our talents, enhance ourselves, gain the will and mindset to exercise and sublimate, in order to release the vitality and grace of the Chinese youth in the new era.

       It was reported that the Communist Youth League has completed the recruitment and assignment of over 5,400 volunteers for the first CIIE, among which,the college students are the main force. At the ceremony, over 5,000 volunteers were energetic and in high spirit, and jointly took the oaths and promises of “Joining together for CIIE” to “make contributions to China and Shanghai”. Volunteer uniforms and theme song were also launched yesterday. There are two types of volunteer uniforms, namely a neo-Chinese-style suit and an athletic suit, which highlight the charm of Shanghai style and the vitality of youth. The theme song is titled "The Power of Youth".
